Debian 0.91beta (1994)

Debian is one of the oldest and most influential GNU/Linux distributions still alive. Here we have the first public beta version of Debian ever released, the 0.91beta. Most people will find it hard to believe that the modern Ubuntu and Mint derived from this quite basic system :-)

FreakWare 0.4 (1999)

Freakware is a distribution based on Slackware 3.6 put together by Freaknet Medialab in 1999 and released in 2017. The only version available is 0.4 (but it is reported as 0.5 in motd and as 0.6 in the Changelog!).

More information about Freakware are available in this article published on the webpage of the "Museo di Informatica Funzionante" Computer Museum.
